SAP ABAP Solution Architect (Hybrid Houston, TX)
We are seeking a highly experienced SAP ABAP Solution Architect / Senior Technical Lead to provide technical leadership and solution architecture for enterprise SAP environments. In this role, you will define architecture standards, lead global development teams, and drive innovative SAP solutions aligned with business objectives. The emphasis is on deep SAP expertise, leadership, and delivering modernization programs across S/4HANA and SAP BTP.
This is a 40-hour-per-week, 3-month contract (possible extensions), hybrid role in Houston, TX.
This is a W2 role as a Stage 4 Solutions employee. Health benefits and a 401K are offered.
Responsibilities
- Define SAP technical architecture and development standards.
- Lead SAP S/4HANA transformation, upgrade, migration, and modernization programs.
- Provide architectural guidance for custom developments, integrations, and cloud extensions.
- Review and approve technical design documents, code quality standards, and development strategies.
- Design and develop complex SAP solutions using OO ABAP, ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, RAP Framework, OData Services, Fiori/UI5, Smart Forms/Adobe Forms, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits, BAPIs, RFCs, ALE/IDOCs.
- Drive code optimization, performance tuning, and clean-core principles.
- Lead S/4HANA Greenfield, Brownfield, and Conversion projects.
- Design cloud-native extensions using SAP BTP and ensure alignment with SAP Clean Core strategy.
- Architect integrations between SAP and non-SAP applications (APIs, REST/SOAP services, EDI/IDOC interfaces, event-driven integrations).
- Lead and mentor global ABAP development teams, conducting design/code reviews and governance sessions.
Requirements
- 20+ years of SAP ABAP experience with deep expertise in S/4HANA, ABAP on HANA, RAP Framework, CDS Views, SAP BTP, SAP Fiori/UI5, OData Services, Workflow, BRF+, and SAP Integration Suite.
- Strong knowledge of integration technologies: IDOC, ALE, RFC, BAPI, REST/SOAP APIs.
- Hands-on experience with SAP Cloud ALM and SAP Activate Methodology.
- Functional exposure across MM, SD, PP, WM/EWM, LE, FI/CO, TM, and Ariba (preferred).
- Proven experience leading global SAP transformation programs and managing teams of 15 50 consultants.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- SAP ABAP/SAP BTP/S/4HANA certifications preferred.
