SAP Architect (Remote)

As our client’s  enterprise continues to expand its digital capabilities, they are seeking a visionary SAP BTP Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, cloud-native solutions on the SAP Business Technology Platform. Reporting directly to the Application Development Manager, you will serve as the technical authority bridging core business objectives with modern architectural frameworks. This pivotal role empowers you to architect transformational solution blueprints, define multi-region resiliency patterns, and push the boundaries of enterprise integration across our cloud and hybrid landscapes.

Location

This position is a fully remote, permanent full-time opportunity open to candidates working anywhere across our national recruitment network. While day-to-day operations take place in a flexible home-office structure, candidates should be comfortable aligning with core U.S. business hours and collaborating with distributed teams across multiple time zones.

What You Will Do

• Architect scalable, end-to-end solution blueprints, reference architectures, and multi-region deployment patterns on SAP BTP to drive cloud innovation and digital transformation.
• Determine optimal architectural fit for SAP BTP capabilities versus legacy or alternative integration methods, ensuring technical alignment with overall enterprise goals.
• Lead technical workstreams and mentor development engineering teams in SAP BTP runtimes, including Cloud Foundry, Kyma, and ABAP Environment.
• Promote modern SAP cloud development standards, microservices architecture, DevOps methodologies, and CI/CD automation pipelines.
• Integrate SAP S/4HANA and legacy ECC systems with third-party enterprise platforms utilizing APIs, custom middleware, and SAP Cloud Connector.
• Develop advanced ABAP objects (BAPIs, BADIs, workflows), CAPM applications, CDS views, and Fiori/UI5 interfaces.
• Design and customize cloud-native applications and extensions using Java, JavaScript, Node.js, and Python.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional business partners to translate complex operational strategies into detailed technical specifications.
• Deliver technical roadmaps, cost analyses, and architectural proposals to executive leaders and steering committees.
• Manage full-lifecycle SAP cloud projects using SAP Activate or equivalent structured agile delivery methodologies while driving continuous post-go-live optimization.

 

Who You Are

• 10+ years of overall IT development experience, including 3+ years of hands-on expertise designing and building solutions on SAP BTP services and capabilities.
• 5+ years of core ABAP software development experience along with strong background in S/4HANA migration, extension, or clean core principles.
• SAP Certified Professional – Solution Architect – SAP BTP certification.
• Hands-on proficiency with SAP Fiori, SAP UI5, CAPM, CDS, Node.js, and Java or JavaScript (Python experience strongly preferred).
• Proven experience leading complex SAP cloud integrations using SAP Cloud Connector, APIs, BAPIs, BADIs, and modern middleware frameworks.
• Practical knowledge of developer tooling and infrastructure including SAP BAS, Fiori Elements, Kubernetes, containerization, and microservices architecture.
• Demonstrated competency in DevOps ecosystems such as Azure DevOps, Git, Jira, Confluence, and automated CI/CD deployment workflows.
• Working understanding of multi-cloud architectures across hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (Master's degree preferred).
• SAP Certified Professional – Solution Architect – SAP BTP certification (Required).
• Additional SAP BTP certifications in Integration, Development, or Analytics are highly valued.
• Relevant cloud vendor certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) or background in AI/ML BTP services are a plus.
