SAP Basis Consultant – SAP BTP Administration & Cloud ALM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Consultant with strong SAP BTP Administration and SAP Cloud ALM expertise to support a strategic implementation of SAP BTP Integration Suite and SAP Cloud ALM.

The consultant will play a key role in designing the SAP BTP tenant architecture, establishing and administering the BTP environment, and supporting the transition from SAP Solution Manager (SolMan) to SAP Cloud ALM. This position requires a strong traditional SAP Basis foundation combined with recent, hands-on experience administering SAP BTP and implementing Cloud ALM.

The consultant will work closely with the client's Basis team, project leadership, architects, and offshore Cloud ALM resources to establish a secure, scalable, and supportable SAP cloud environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide SAP Basis leadership for the implementation of SAP BTP Integration Suite and SAP Cloud ALM.
• Collaborate with the client's SAP Basis and architecture teams to design the SAP BTP tenant and account architecture.
• Design and support BTP global account, subaccount, environment, entitlement, connectivity, security, and administrative structures as applicable to the solution.
• Administer and support SAP BTP environments throughout implementation, testing, deployment, and stabilization.
• Lead the implementation and configuration of SAP Cloud ALM.
• Assess the existing SAP Solution Manager landscape and develop the approach for transitioning relevant functionality to SAP Cloud ALM.
• Support the migration of monitoring, operations, implementation, and lifecycle-management processes from SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM.
• Establish Cloud ALM monitoring, alerting, integration, and operational processes appropriate for the target environment.
• Coordinate Cloud ALM connectivity and integration with the broader SAP landscape.
• Lead and provide technical direction to a team of offshore SAP Cloud ALM consultants.
• Review offshore deliverables for technical accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established architecture and standards.
• Develop architecture diagrams, configuration documentation, migration plans, operational procedures, and technical standards.
• Identify technical dependencies, risks, issues, and infrastructure requirements and proactively drive resolution.
• Collaborate with SAP integration, security, infrastructure, functional, and application teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support system testing, cutover planning, deployment, production readiness, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Work closely with the Project Manager to provide regular updates on project status, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and deliverables.

Required Qualifications

• 7–8+ years of hands-on SAP Basis experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on SAP Cloud ALM experience.
• 2+ years of SAP BTP Administration experience.
• At least two projects involving migration or transition from SAP Solution Manager to SAP Cloud ALM.
• Demonstrated experience with SAP BTP tenant architecture and administration.
• Experience designing SAP BTP account and tenant structures to support enterprise SAP environments.
• Strong understanding of SAP BTP administration, connectivity, security, access, entitlements, and environment management.
• Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and supporting SAP Cloud ALM.
• Strong understanding of SAP Solution Manager and the considerations involved in transitioning lifecycle-management capabilities to Cloud ALM.
• Strong SAP Basis foundation and understanding of enterprise SAP landscape architecture.
• Experience producing architecture documentation, technical designs, configuration documentation, and operational procedures.
• Experience leading or providing technical direction to offshore SAP resources.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with client Basis teams, architects, project managers, offshore resources, and other technical workstreams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting SAP BTP Integration Suite environments from an administration and platform perspective.
• Experience establishing monitoring and alerting capabilities within SAP Cloud ALM.
• Experience with SAP BTP security, identity/access management, Cloud Connector, destinations, certificates, and connectivity.
• Experience supporting large-scale SAP cloud transformation or modernization programs.
• SAP Basis, SAP BTP, or SAP Cloud ALM certifications.
• Previous experience serving as a SAP Basis/BTP Lead or Cloud ALM Lead.
