Job Summary

The SAP Basis & Enterprise Cloud Platform manager will lead the SAP technical operations for the Americas region, providing hands on technical oversight, people management, and strategic planning for SAP Basis, Cloud (GCP/Azure), and supporting tools

The role will manage the SAP Basis & Cloud Specialists, ensure optimal system availability and performance, uphold GxP/JSOX compliance, and partner with global teams to maintain and scale Terumo's SAP ecosystem

This position also incorporates expanded leadership responsibilities building on core competencies such as cross-functional collaboration, IT governance, process evaluation, documentation, solution design, and facilitating business-IT alignment.

Job Details/Responsibilities

Lead the development of the architecture, roadmap, and long‑term infrastructure strategy-while driving cloud adoption and modernization initiatives-to safeguard uptime, optimize performance, and strengthen the resilience of the SAP technical landscape.

Manage vendor relationships (SAP, GCP, Deloitte, Capgemini, etc.).

Standardize Basis configurations, enforce consistent global policies, and approve release and cutover strategies for major deployments.

Provide oversight for SAP Application Management Services and Enterprise Applications, including leadership of disaster recovery exercises and quarterly capacity planning.

Facilitate cross-BU coordination including GxP compliance teams, OCM, and training teams

Manage and mentor SAP Basis and Cloud specialists while building technical capability through structured onboarding, career development plans, and skill‑enhancement initiatives, including emerging and innovative technologies.

Lead Transition Management workshops and promote continuous improvement through knowledge sharing, enhanced documentation practices, and regular SOP updates.

Incumbent must follow all established Environmental Health & Safety and Quality System policies, programs, rules and practices, including but not limited to product and patient safety, the health and safety of all associates as well as the environment and community at large.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)

  • Expertise in S/4HANA, PO, GRC, BW, Fiori, BODS, Solution Manager, etc.
  • OS fundamentals, storage, networking, and performance characteristics across application/DB/OS layers.
  • GCP/Azure compute, storage, networking, HA/DR patterns, multizone design, and cost optimization practices.
  • Understanding of FDA CFR Part 11, SOX, and GxP compliance
  • Familiarity with ITSM frameworks (e.g., Remedy, ServiceNow)
  • Strong project and vendor management skills.

Qualifications/ Background Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • 12 years of related experience in SAP Basis
  • Experience in the Medical Device or Life Sciences industry
  • 4 years of experience in cloud infrastructure projects
  • Has done end to end implementation and migration projects
  • Strong understanding of SAP and Cloud architecture.
  • Certification in SAP administration and migration is preferred

Final compensation packages may be higher or lower than what is listed, and will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, internal equity, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
