SAP BTP Application Architect
Expectations / Deliverables for the Role
-Experience of managing C-level (CIO/CEO/CXO) level stakeholders.
-Played BTP Application architect level role and experience in defining BTP Application strategy for the organization.
-Defines end-to-end application architecture for SAP solutions, aligned with business strategy and enterprise standards.
-Produces reference architectures by leveraging expert input from application, platform, integration, data, and security engineering teams. These references form the foundation for new SAP solutions and programs.
-Drives Clean Core principles by clearly defining what belongs in SAP standard, in-app extensibility, and side-by-side extensions.
-Reviews and approves designs to reduce customization, technical debt, and long-term maintenance risk.
-Defines application-level standards for monitoring, logging, and observability to ensure reliable and supportable solutions.
-Evaluates and influences total cost of application ownership, including build, run, support, and upgrade costs.
Technical Proficiency
-Strong experience with SAP BTP + SAP S/4HANA application and functional architecture across core business domains.
-Deep understanding of SAP extensibility options and Clean Core–aligned design patterns.
-Familiarity with application monitoring, observability, and operational readiness in SAP landscapes.
-Experience assessing custom code, enhancements, and workflows for implification or retirement.
-Ability to design applications with long-term maintainability, performance, and upgradeability in mind.
