Position: SAP Capital Project Closeout Analyst
Location: Denver, CO
Work Arrangement: Onsite: Tuesday–Thursday
Contract Duration: 12-Months
Pay Rate: $48.50/hr. W-2


Position Summary
The SAP Capital Project Closeout Analyst – Gas Portfolio supports the financial and administrative closeout of capital projects within the Gas Capital Portfolio. This role ensures projects are accurately reviewed, reconciled, documented, and formally closed within SAP in compliance with SOX and regulated utility standards.

The ideal candidate understands both project financials and project operations, and can analyze cost performance while considering broader lifecycle impacts. This position requires strong SAP experience, attention to detail, and the ability to partner cross-functionally with project teams, finance, and construction stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Review capital project costs and compare actuals to forecasts and approved budgets
  • Analyze and document cost variances
  • Partner with Project Managers and Coordinators to obtain supporting documentation
  • Review capital material usage and validate installation accuracy
  • Perform SAP project closeouts in accordance with company procedures
  • Conduct QA/QC reviews of previously closed projects
  • Ensure compliance with SOX and regulated utility requirements
  • Review General Ledger impacts and capital cost allocations
  • Provide clear communication of findings, discrepancies, and closeout status updates
  • Support continuous improvement of project closeout processes
Work Environment
  • Hybrid schedule (Denver – LDC location)
    • Remote: Monday & Friday
    • Onsite: Tuesday–Thursday
  • Standard business hours (7:00–4:00 or 8:00–5:00)
  • Full-time contract (approximately one year)
  • No travel required
  • Office-based role (no field safety exposure)
  • Collaborative team of approximately 20 members
  • Individual contributor with frequent cross-functional interaction
Required Qualifications
  • Hands-on SAP experience (critical requirement)
  • Experience reviewing project costs and analyzing cost variances
  • Experience supporting capital projects or project financials
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle and financial impacts
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to operate independently after onboarding
Preferred Qualifications
  • Utility or regulated industry experience (electric, gas, water)
  • SOX compliance experience
  • SAP material movement experience
  • SAP project cost and closeout experience
  • General Ledger review experience
  • Experience in capital project administration or project controls
  • Background in banking, insurance, healthcare, or other regulated industries
