Make Your Mark at Prysmian Group

A day in the life

You start by checking inbound and outbound queues in SAP. Advanced shipping notices are confirmed, receipts are posted, and pick waves are reviewed. A time-critical order needs Post Goods Issue right after allocation—done. You print bills of lading, verify documentation, and line up carrier appointments. Sales calls to adjust a delivery window; you coordinate with Customer Service and Production, update schedules, and notify the driver. Between truck departures, you respond to inventory inquiries, reconcile a cycle count variance, and ship a few sample reels and small packages via UPS. Throughout the day, you keep records clean, data consistent, and communication flowing across Supply Chain, Sales, Customer Service, Transportation, carriers, and drivers. You’re the steady hand that keeps the DC moving.

How you’ll contribute

  • Run daily shipping and receiving activities, completing all related documents and system transactions with precision.
  • Execute SAP processes for shipping, receiving, and order management, including PGI and order allocation.
  • Coordinate schedules and updates with internal partners (Sales, Customer Service, Production) and external partners (carriers, drivers).
  • Prepare and process bills of lading and other shipping paperwork.
  • Support truck planning and end-to-end shipment coordination.
  • Address inventory questions and assist Customer Service with order status and availability.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation to resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Handle sample shipments and small parcel (e.g., UPS) as needed.
  • Pitch in on other DC tasks that keep the operation running smoothly.

Team structure

This is a hands-on, senior contributor role within a small, collaborative team. The position has no direct reports and partners closely with the DC Manager.

What sets you up for success

  • Deep familiarity with shipping/receiving in a distribution or manufacturing setting.
  • Thrives in a fast-moving, high-performance environment with shifting priorities.
  • Comfort juggling multiple complex tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; collaborates effectively across Supply Chain, Customer Service, Sales, and Transportation.
  • Analytical, curious, and decisive—able to troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
  • Confident navigating SAP and other business systems; proficient with Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree (or higher) in a related field preferred.
  • 2–3+ years of hands-on SAP experience specifically within shipping, receiving, and logistics workflows.
  • Background supporting distribution center or warehouse operations.
  • Experience coordinating with carriers, drivers, and internal teams.
  • APICS/CPIM or similar supply chain certification is a plus.
