Role Summary
The SAP Fioneer FPSL Banking Consultant is responsible for the hands-on functional configuration and implementation of SAP Fioneer Financial Products Subledger (FPSL) for banking products.
The role supports detailed design, build, testing, and deployment of integrations with source systems and event-based accounting, ensuring accurate subledger postings and seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA Finance in line with IFRS 9 and local GAAP requirements.
The consultant acts as a functional implementation specialist, translating approved finance designs into FPSL configuration while supporting testing, reconciliation, defect resolution, and go-live activities. Key Responsibilities
1. FPSL Functional Configuration (Banking)
Configure SAP Fioneer FPSL for banking products, including:

• Loans and Advances
• Deposits
• Money Market Instruments
• Securities/Bonds (where applicable)

Implement and configure FPSL components, including:

• Contract Types
• Contract Attributes
• Event Types
• Event Processing
• Posting Schemas
• Accounting Determinations

Support the setup and configuration of:

• Valuation Areas
• Subledger Accounting Layers
• Accounting Principles, Ledgers

2. Accounting & IFRS 9 Support
Implement FPSL accounting logic aligned with:

• IFRS 9 Classification
  • Amortized Cost (AC)
  • Fair Value Through Other Comprehensive Income (FVOCI)
  • Fair Value Through Profit or Loss (FVTPL)
• Effective Interest Rate (EIR) based accruals
• Fee and Charge Accounting

Support accounting postings related to:

• Initial Recognition
• Accruals
• Amortization
• Derecognition Events

Assist the Finance Lead and Solution Architect in validating:

• Accounting Outcomes
• Contract-Level Posting Results , General Ledger Posting Results

3. Integration Support (Source Systems & SAP S/4HANA)
Support inbound integrations from:

• Core Banking Systems
• Treasury Platforms
• Trading Platforms

Assist with:

• Event Payload Validation
• Attribute Mapping
• Data Enrichment
• Source System Integration

Support outbound integration with:

• SAP S/4HANA Universal Journal

Validate:

• Document Splitting
• General Ledger Account Derivations
• Posting Completeness

Collaborate with integration teams to ensure accurate end-to-end accounting flows between source systems, FPSL, and SAP S/4HANA. 4. Testing, Reconciliation & Defect Resolution
Support and execute:

• Unit Testing (UT)
• System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

Perform reconciliations between:

• Source Systems and FPSL
• FPSL Subledger and SAP S/4HANA General Ledger

Analyze and resolve:

• Posting Errors
• Accounting Mismatches
• Integration Defects
• Configuration Issues

Support:

• Parallel Run Activities
• Legacy Subledger Validation
• Go-Live Readiness, Production Support Activities

Work closely with Finance, IT, and Integration teams to ensure successful testing and deployment. 5. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Prepare and maintain project documentation, including:

• Functional Design Documents
• Configuration Documents
• Functional Specifications
• Test Scenarios, Test Scripts, Test Evidence
• Configuration Workbooks

Support:

• User Documentation
• Knowledge Transfer Sessions

Ensure all project documentation complies with implementation standards and audit requirements. Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 end-to-end SAP Fioneer FPSL implementation projects.
• Hands-on experience configuring SAP Fioneer Financial Products Subledger (FPSL).
