Description
Make Renewable Energy Move
At Nordex, our mission is to build and deliver clean power plants that push the world toward 100% renewable energy. As an SAP Materials Logistics Technician, you keep the flow of parts and supplies moving so production never misses a beat. Your work blends hands-on handling with precise system updates to keep our warehouse humming and our projects on schedule.
A Day in the Life
You start on the loading dock, organizing incoming deliveries and confirming each shipment against purchase orders. You stage materials in the right locations for easy access, then head to the line to stock production workstations according to the build plan. Later, you prepare outbound loads headed to the farm, ensuring counts are exact and packaging is secure. In between, you capture every movement in SAP (and JD Edwards as needed), support sales order shipments, and keep the dock and aisles neat. Before day’s end, you reconcile a stock discrepancy, log waste transfers for recycling, and share inventory insights that help Finance close the month.
Core Responsibilities
Receive, unpack, and verify goods against purchase orders; place materials for optimal accessibility.
Issue and deliver materials to production workstations per the scheduled build plan.
Prepare and safely load outbound shipments to the farm with correct quantities and documentation.
Record all movements (receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments, losses) in SAP/ERP promptly and accurately; process sales order shipments.
Maintain a clean, orderly loading dock and warehouse; collect and transfer production/warehouse waste for proper disposal or recycling.
Monitor inventory levels, conduct cycle counts and full counts, and reconcile discrepancies.
Partner with Finance by providing inventory data and commentary to support monthly and annual results.
Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse efficiency.
What You Bring
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
At least 1 year in a warehouse environment preferred.
Comfort with heavy material handling and working in manufacturing settings.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for data entry, documentation, and basic analysis.
Experience with ERP/MRP (SAP, JD Edwards) to update inventory, track movements, and generate reports; familiarity with CMMS is a plus.
Strong English communication skills; able to read delivery notes, inventory reports, and related documentation.
Organized, detail-focused planner who can prioritize and coordinate activities across teams.
Demonstrated teamwork; able to support and, when needed, direct others to meet goals.
Driving is essential: valid driver’s license, insurability under company policy, and willingness to undergo periodic driver’s abstract checks.
Safety, Always
Champion safe work practices and compliance with all regulations and Nordex policies.
Identify hazards and act before they become issues.
Use required PPE correctly (eye/hearing protection, steel-toe boots, hard hat); avoid loose clothing and jewelry.
Communicate clearly in English to align on procedures and safeguards.
