Title: SAP MDG Supplier master Functional Lead
Location: Seattle, WA
Duration: 6+ Months
Salary Range: $55- $60 an hour on W2 Only
Note- ITAR Requirement.
We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG Supplier Master Functional Lead to lead Supplier Master Data Governance initiatives across enterprise SAP landscapes. The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in SAP MDG-S, Supplier Lifecycle Management, SAP Business Partner, SAP S/4HANA, Procurement, and Master Data Governance.
The candidate will be responsible for business requirement gathering, stakeholder workshops, governance process design, SAP MDG configuration, implementation leadership, testing, deployment, and production support. The role requires close collaboration with Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounts Payable, Compliance, and IT teams.
Must-Have Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on functional experience with SAP MDG-S (Supplier Master).
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and Business Partner framework.
- Expertise in SAP MM Procurement and Supplier Management processes.
- Experience with Supplier Onboarding, Supplier Lifecycle Management, and Data Governance.
- Strong knowledge of SAP MDG Data Model, Change Request Types, and Workflow Configuration.
- Hands-on experience with BRF+ for validations, derivations, and business rules.
- Experience with Data Replication Framework (DRF).
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori applications related to Supplier Master Governance.
- Experience integrating SAP MDG with SAP Ariba, SAP S/4HANA, ECC, and third-party systems.
- Strong understanding of Master Data Quality, cleansing, deduplication, and governance standards.
- Ability to develop functional specifications, process documentation, and test scenarios.
- Experience supporting SIT, UAT, deployment, cutover, and hypercare.
Roles & Responsibilities
Functional Leadership
- Lead SAP MDG Supplier Master functional design and implementation activities.
- Conduct business workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with key stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into scalable SAP MDG Supplier Master solutions.
- Define supplier governance processes, approval workflows, validations, and business rules.
- Provide functional leadership across design, build, testing, deployment, and production support phases.
- Serve as the primary functional SME for Supplier Master Data Governance.
SAP MDG Configuration
- Configure SAP MDG Supplier Data Model and governance processes.
- Design and configure Change Request Types and Workflows.
- Configure BRF+ validations, derivations, and duplicate-check rules.
- Support Fiori-based Supplier Master governance applications.
- Work closely with technical teams on enhancements, integrations, interfaces, and custom developments.
- Ensure MDG solutions align with enterprise architecture and governance standards.
Supplier Data Governance
- Define and implement supplier data standards and governance policies.
- Establish supplier onboarding, creation, modification, approval, and maintenance processes.
- Support supplier data cleansing, enrichment, quality improvement, and deduplication initiatives.
- Define data ownership, stewardship, and approval responsibilities.
- Ensure supplier master data processes comply with procurement, financial, regulatory, and organizational requirements.
Integration & Data Migration
- Support integration between SAP MDG, SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC, SAP Ariba, and third-party applications.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Accounts Payable, Supply Chain, and Integration teams.
- Support supplier data migration, conversion, and transformation activities.
- Work with data migration teams to validate supplier data during conversion programs.
- Coordinate end-to-end testing of interfaces and supplier master processes.
Testing & Deployment
- Develop functional test scenarios and support SIT, UAT, regression testing, and production validation.
- Coordinate defect resolution with technical and business teams.
- Support cutover, deployment, go-live, and hypercare activities.
- Troubleshoot functional issues and provide root-cause analysis.
- Ensure successful transition of MDG solutions into production support.
Documentation & Stakeholder Management
- Prepare functional specifications, process flows, configuration documentation, training materials, and governance policies.
- Present solution recommendations to business and IT leadership.
- Facilitate discussions between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Mentor junior SAP MDG consultants and coordinate with onsite/offshore teams.
- Provide regular status updates and identify project risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in SAP MDG-S / Supplier Master functional consulting.
- Experience delivering 3 5 or more end-to-end SAP MDG implementation projects.
- Strong understanding of Supplier Lifecycle Management.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and Business Partner concepts.
- Strong knowledge of SAP MM Procurement and Supplier Master processes.
- Experience with MDG workflows, BRF+, DRF, Fiori, and data governance.
- Experience with SAP Ariba and other supplier-related integrations is highly preferred.
- Strong business workshop facilitation and requirement-gathering experience.
- Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience working with onsite/offshore teams and mentoring junior consultants.
