SAP MM / WM / SD Consultant

Our client, a IT Services and Consulting company, is looking for a SAP MM / WM / SD Consultant for their Austin, TX/Sunnyvale, CA/Hybrid location.
 
Responsibilities:

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective SAP MM/WM/SD solutions
• Configure SAP modules to support procurement, warehouse, and sales processes
• Design and manage integration between MM, WM, and SD modules
• Support end-to-end SAP implementations, upgrades, and enhancements
• Develop functional specifications and collaborate with technical teams for development
• Perform ABAP debugging to support issue resolution and enhancements
• Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication
• Conduct system testing including unit testing, integration testing, and UAT support
• Identify process improvements and recommend best practices
• Ensure alignment with business needs and industry standards
• Serve as a senior business analyst specializing in SAP materials management, enabling efficient batch handling, material planning, and special procurement processes for an MNC. Collaborate with cross functional partners in a hybrid work setup to refine master data, streamline integration with sales and distribution, and enhance operational reliability for global supply chains.
• Analyze complex business requirements across procurement and inventory domains to translate operational needs into optimized SAP materials management solutions that improve supply reliability and reduce process variance.
• Configure and validate SAP materials management batch handling scenarios to ensure precise traceability, regulatory adherence, and accurate stock segmentation from goods receipt through final consumption.
• Coordinate integration flows between materials management and sales distribution modules to maintain consistent data sharing, accurate stock allocation, and timely material availability updates for order fulfillment.
• Design and refine material requirement planning parameters in SAP to balance service levels, working capital, and production continuity while aligning with demand patterns and lead time constraints.
• Define and maintain special procurement setups in SAP to support subcontracting, stock transfers, and third party arrangements in ways that minimize manual intervention and processing delays.
• Review and enhance materials management master data structures to promote standard naming, classification, and control fields so that downstream processes such as planning and procurement remain reliable and auditable.
• Partner with functional and technical teams in hybrid work mode to prepare functional specifications, oversee configuration, support testing cycles, and drive smooth production deployments without disruption to business operations.
• Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues in purchase, inventory, or delivery flows and propose corrective designs in SAP that prevent rework and enhance user confidence in system data.
• Prepare and deliver detailed process documentation, training content, and knowledge transfer sessions to help business users adopt improved materials management functionalities effectively.
• Collaborate with finance and controlling partners to validate that materials management postings, valuation processes, and account assignments remain consistent with corporate policy and audit expectations.
• Engage in continuous improvement assessments using operational metrics such as stock accuracy, order cycle times, and planning adherence to identify where SAP materials management configuration or usage can be refined.
• Support testing activities across system enhancements by authoring test scenarios, guiding user acceptance sessions, and validating that integration among modules performs reliably under end to end business flows.
• Advise stakeholders on best practice usage of SAP materials management features to support sustainable operations, reduce waste across supply chains, and improve service outcomes for customers and communities.

 
Requirements:

• We are seeking an experienced SAP MM/WM/SD Consultant with 8+ years of experience to support end-to-end SAP implementations and enhancements in a high-tech/electronics environment. The role requires strong functional expertise across Materials Management (MM), Warehouse Management (WM), and Sales & Distribution (SD), along with the ability to manage project scope, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
• The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SAP configuration, integration, and full lifecycle implementations, and will be capable of delivering scalable, high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives.

• Show advanced expertise in materials requirement planning configuration including lot sizing, safety stock, planning strategies, and exception monitoring tailored to business demand profiles.
• Apply detailed understanding of special procurement processes in SAP such as subcontracting and stock transfers to craft robust solutions for distributed supply networks.
• Utilize comprehensive knowledge of materials management master data including material master, vendor master, and related control data to support high quality and scalable data foundations.
• Bring prior experience of at least eight years as a business analyst or functional consultant working on end to end SAP materials management implementations or large enhancement programs.
• Communicate clearly with global stakeholders in hybrid working environments while documenting requirements, design decisions, and test outcomes in an organized and accessible manner.
• Certifications Required : SAP Certified Application Associate in SAP ERP Materials Management or SAP S or HANA Sourcing and Procurement, plus any advanced SAP supply chain certification preferred Work
