Looking for an experienced **SAP Planning Functional Consultant** to serve as the functional lead for SAP Production Planning data design activities. The consultant will work directly with business stakeholders, planning organizations, manufacturing teams, and data platform teams to define planning-related business requirements, data models, business rules, and integration requirements. Technical development activities will be performed by SAP BW, ODP, and Data Engineering teams; this role will provide the functional leadership and solution design direction. **The ideal candidate combines deep SAP PP/MRP expertise with strong business process analysis and data modeling capabilities.**

Ideal Candidate Profile:
• Strong SAP PP/MRP functional consultant with planning process expertise.
• Comfortable working at the intersection of business processes, SAP data structures, and enterprise analytics.
• Able to lead client workshops and drive requirements independently.
• Experience designing scalable data models rather than only configuring SAP transactions.
• Prior consulting experience supporting large global Life Sciences clients preferred.

**Required Skills**
SAP Planning Functional Expertise
• 5+ years of SAP PP/MRP functional consulting experience.
• Strong expertise in:
o SAP MRP
o Planned Orders
o Production Orders
o Manufacturing and Production Planning processes
o Material Requirements Planning execution and outputs
• Deep understanding of:
o Material Master planning attributes, including MRP Controllers, Lot Sizing, Safety Stock
o Bills of Material (BOMs)
o Routings
o Work Centers
o Production Versions
o Capacity and Supply Planning concepts
Business & Data Design Skills
• Ability to gather and translate business requirements into functional designs.
• Experience defining business rules, data relationships, mappings, and process flows.
• Experience supporting enterprise reporting, analytics, or data transformation initiatives.
• Strong workshop facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
Industry Experience
• Experience in Life Sciences, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
• Understanding of GxP-regulated processes.
• Experience supporting Computer System Validation (CSV) activities.

**Preferred Skills**
• SAP S/4HANA implementation experience.
• SAP data governance and master data management concepts.
• Supply Chain analytics and reporting experience.
• Blue Yonder / JDA planning process familiarity.
• Experience with integration from SAP to Manufacturing Execution Systems.
• Experience with production scheduling tools such as Infor.

**Role Responsibilities**
Functional Planning Leadership
• Serve as the SAP MRP and Production Planning subject matter expert for the client's Data Foundation program.
• Lead planning-domain workshops with business stakeholders and SMEs.
• Define future-state planning and manufacturing data requirements.
Data Model & Process Design
• Lead functional design of planning-related data models.
• Define business entities, attributes, relationships, hierarchies, and reporting requirements.
• Develop business rules governing planning and manufacturing data.
• Establish mapping logic between SAP source data and downstream data products.
SAP Planning Domain Expertise
• Provide functional guidance regarding:
o Material Master planning data
o BOM structures
o Work Centers
o Routings
o MRP execution
o Planned Orders and Production Orders
• Ensure planning data models accurately reflect SAP business processes and reporting requirements.
Collaboration with Technical Teams
• Partner with SAP BW, ODP, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams during solution development.
• Review and validate technical designs against business requirements.
• Resolve functional questions and planning process issues throughout development.
Validation & Testing
• Define test scenarios and acceptance criteria.
• Lead functional testing and validation activities.
• Support defect triage and issue resolution.
• Validate data completeness, accuracy, and business rule compliance.
