The SAP Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and successful delivery of SAP transformation initiatives (eg., S/4HANA). This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT leadership, SAP implementation partners, and project teams to ensure the program delivers strategic business value while meeting scope, budget, timeline, and objectives. The Project Manager will oversee all phases of the program, including discovery, preparation, implementation, testing, training, cutover, and hypercare support. The role requires strong program leadership, stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and experience delivering large-scale ERP transformations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end SAP (eg., S/4HANA) implementation programs from initiation through go-live and stabilization.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, status reports, milestones, budgets, dependencies, and resource forecasts.
  • Ensure alignment of project objectives with corporate business transformation strategies.
  • Establish project governance, steering committee structures, and executive reporting processes.
  • Partner with IT and business leaders to define future-state processes and organizational readiness.
  • Facilitate workshops to gather business requirements and validate process improvements.
  • Drive adoption of SAP best practices, standardization, and business process optimization.
  • Support evaluation and prioritization of SAP capabilities, including embedded AI, analytics, add-on solutions and automation opportunities.
  • Coordinate activities across functional, technical, infrastructure, security, integration, and data teams.
  • Manage implementation partners, SAP consultants, and third-party vendors.
  • Oversee solution design, configuration, testing, training, data migration, and cutover activities.
  • Ensure successful execution of iterative testing cycles including Unit Testing, SIT, UAT, and Production Readiness Reviews.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and dependencies.
  • Manage project scope, change requests, and escalation processes.
  • Track critical path activities and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Maintain issues logs and provide proactive executive communication.
  • Collaborate with organizational change management leads to develop communication strategies.
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and business readiness activities. Experience working with executive leadership, business stakeholders, and external consulting partners.
  • Coordinate training programs for super users, business leaders, and end users.
  • Ensure operational readiness and successful user adoption.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
  • Track project expenditures and vendor contracts.
  • Report on project benefits and ROI realization.
  • Support business case development and executive approval processes.

Required Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • SAP S/4HANA and SAP ECC migration strategies.
  • SAP Activate methodology and SAP Fiori user experience concepts.
  • Data migration, master data governance, integration architecture, testing methodologies, and release management.
  • Cloud and hybrid ERP environments, cutover planning, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Experience with Project Management tools (e.g. MS Project)

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of project or program management experience. 5+ years leading complex ERP implementation, rollout projects or transformation programs. Minimum 3 full lifecycle SAP migration and integration with other systems. Demonstrated experience managing multi-million-dollar enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • PMP, SAP Activate, or equivalent project management certification preferred.
