Rquired Skills: SAP PP (Make-to-Order) - Technical Project Manager Job Title: SAP PP Technical Project Manager - Make-to-Order (MTO) Experience: 10+ Years Employment Type: Full-Time Location: Texas Reports To: Program Director ________________________________________ About the Role We are looking for an experienced SAP PP (Production Planning) Technical Project Manager with deep expertise in Make-to-Order (MTO) manufacturing scenarios to lead end-to-end SAP implementation, rollout, and support projects. This role sits at the intersection of hands-on SAP PP functional/technical expertise and project leadership — you'll be expected to both guide project delivery and go deep into configuration, integration, and troubleshooting when needed. The ideal candidate has managed full-cycle SAP and Non SAP -MTO implementations (S/4HANA or ECC, MES), understands the tight integration between PP, SD, MM, and QM in an MTO environment, and can lead cross-functional teams while remaining credible with technical/functional consultants and business stakeholders alike. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Project & Program Management • Lead end-to-end SAP PP-MTO projects — implementation, rollout, upgrade (ECC to S/4HANA), and AMS/support engagements — across planning, design, build, test, and hypercare phases. • Own project scope, timelines, budgets, resourcing, and RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) logs; report status to steering committees and senior stakeholders. • Translate business requirements into project plans, work breakdown structures, and sprint/release schedules (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery models). • Manage cross-functional dependencies between PP, SD, MM, QM, PP-DS/APO or IBP, and FICO teams, ensuring integrated design and testing. • Drive governance: change control, steering committee updates, escalation management, and go-live readiness/cutover planning. • Manage onshore-offshore delivery teams, third-party vendors, and system integrators. SAP PP-MTO Functional & Technical Leadership • Lead solution design and configuration for Make-to-Order production, including: o Sales order-based planning o Sales order costing and valuated/non-valuated sales order stock o Requirement class/type configuration and account assignment categories o MRP run configuration for MTO segments (individual customer requirement) o Production/Process order creation, confirmation, and settlement tied to sales orders o Variant configuration (LO-VC) for configurable materials, where applicable o Integration with SD (availability check/ATP, delivery, billing) and MM (procurement for MTO components) o Costing and variance analysis for sales-order-related production • Review and approve functional/technical specs (WRICEF) authored by PP consultants; ensure design consistency across the landscape. • Guide integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and cutover/data migration strategy for MTO-specific data objects (open sales orders, WIP production orders, sales order stock). • Provide hands-on troubleshooting support for critical production issues in the MTO order-to-cash and plan-to-produce cycles. • Ensure solution designs align with SAP best practices and leverage S/4HANA innovations (e.g., MRP Live, Production Cockpit/Manufacturing dashboards, embedded analytics) where relevant. Stakeholder & Team Management • Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales Operations, Finance) and the technical delivery team. • Mentor and manage a team of SAP PP functional consultants, ABAP developers, and testers. • Facilitate workshops, design review sessions, and steering committee meetings. • Manage vendor and system integrator relationships, including SOW tracking and deliverable acceptance. ________________________________________ Required Qualifications • 10+ years of overall SAP experience, with a minimum of 5+ years focused specifically on SAP PP
