Sawing Machine Operator

This position is responsible for setting up and operating metal sawing equipment, such as band saws, to cut metal stock to required dimensions and specifications. Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and shop drawings to determine material specifications and cutting requirements.
• Set up and operate metal sawing machines, including band saws, to cut metal stock to required dimensions.
• Transfer materials from stock areas to machines manually or with the use of forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Set stops and guides to control dimensions of cuts using measuring tools and hand tools.
  Monitor saw blade condition, tension, cutting angles, and cutting speeds to ensure quality production.
• Replace worn or defective saw blades using hand tools as needed.
• Manage coolant flow in cutting areas to ensure proper machine operation.
• Inspect finished materials for accuracy and compliance with specifications using measuring devices.
• Mark identifying information on completed workpieces.
• Accurately record production time and completed work using the company's computer data collection system.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all plant safety procedures.

Work collaboratively with team members across departments to meet production goals.
