Division: 44 Business CapitalDepartment: 44 Business CapitalReports to: SBA National Sales ManagerStatus: Exempt/ OfficerGrade: 10Salary Range: $55,588 - $102,474Actual compensation within the pay range will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.Location: MA, CT, RI, NYPrincipal ObjectiveCustomer driven role with a strong emphasis on providing exemplary service to internal and external clients. Focus on assisting BDO's with marketing, screening potential transactions, processing of applications, and communication with COI's and customers. The goal is to enable high producing BDO's to be more efficient and able to increase their production.As an SBA BDA assistant, the goal will be for this individual to train under successful BDO's to eventually become a full time BDO. During the training period, the BDA candidate will observe and learn how to: develop new relationships and referral sources, as well as identify, originate and close SBA transactions up to $5 Million in size. They will also actively participate in business development activities to cross sell products and services from other lines of business within the bank as appropriate.Key AccountabilitiesWork with existing successful BDO's to increase their production.Effectively utilize company's CRM (Salesforce) system to thoroughly document all prospect relationships.Schedule marketing activities and appointments for BDO's.Assist with screening new loan requests.Spreading financial statements and completing the BDO spreadsheet for Deal Talk discussions.Participate in Deal Talk discussion with the BDO.Upon prequalification of a transaction at Deal Talk, the BDA will then prepare the Term Sheet to be reviewed and issued by the BDO.Upon customer acceptance and receipt of GFD deposit, BDA will enter the opportunity in Sales Force. Then prepare a Cirrus checklist to be forwarded to COI and customer to complete a Berkshire SBA loan application.Follow up with COI's and customers to collect documentation to complete the loan application.Complete customer CIPs, and other preliminary documents as appropriate.Perform site visits as necessary.Attend and assist the BDO with appropriate industry and regional events for networking and new business opportunities.Eventually the candidate will, if appropriate, directly call on viable leads and clients to discuss prospective opportunities.Understand and effectively articulate our products, services and value proposition.Originate and drive complete sales cycle with ability to: source, qualify, engage and close clients.Partner with underwriting team to tailor solutions to meet prospects' unique needs and assist throughout the deal cycle to manage process towards successful close.Present new loan requests for approval to Credit.Represent the Bank's positive image in the community by serving on boards or as a volunteer in community organizations. Attends Chamber and outside events as a 44 Business Capital representative for networking opportunity. An active and supportive member of all internal committees, programs, and initiatives. Continually builds a network of internal and external centers of influence to further enhance the client experience and to exceed customer's expectations.Ensures compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies/practices/procedures necessary to reduce risk and uphold ethical standards related to and required by one's duties.EducationBS Degree in Business, Economics or Finance, or equivalent financial experienceExperience2+ years' experience as a commercial lender and/or SBA lenderStellar customer service experience to include process driven outbound callingProven track record of working in partnership to achieve goalsNetwork of financial professionals, including commercial bankers, asset based lenders, CPA's, business consultants, business brokers and other local COI's that can help identify new clients in need of our loan products.Skills & KnowledgeStrong computer and analytical skillsExcellent customer service, communication and presentation skillsDrive and proven ability to develop business.General knowledge of lending and deal structureCapable of working independently and managing time effectivelyStrong and confident presentation, negotiation and influencing skillsAbility to analyze financial statementsBeacon Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer - all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
