We are a professional staffing firm, working with organizations across the country to place exceptional candidates. Currently, we have an SBA PORTFOLIO OFFICER opportunity with a California-chartered commercial bank headquartered in Southern California, serving individuals, professionals, and small- to medium-sized businesses with a full range of deposit, lending, treasury management, and SBA financing solutions.

The SBA PORTFOLIO OFFICER is responsible for the specific duties listed below.

Your specific duties will include:
  • Monitor and follow up on upcoming ticklers to ensure tickler items are cleared in a timely manner.
  • Analyze and spread financial statements and tax returns, evaluate debt service capacity for annual reviews, collateral substitutions/releases, and loan modifications in accordance with the Bank's credit policy and SBA StandarOperating Procedure (SOP) requirements, and submit recommendations to Loan Administration for approval in a timely manner.
  • Analyze credit risks, identify mitigating factors, and recommend and justify appropriate credit risk ratings.
  • Identify areas of concern related to existing loans and discuss them with Loan Administration.
  • Assist the SBA Lending Group in resolving issues related to commercial and SBA loan credit matters.
  • Comply fully with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering regulations, and the Code of Conduct).
Required qualifications for the position include:
  • Strong PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and CASH Suite preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when reporting and prioritizing loan activities.
  • Ability to read and write using advanced banking and loan-related terminology.
  • Ability to operate a basic financial calculator to calculate loan payments, interest rates, and loan terms.
  • Thorough understanding of SBA and commercial loan underwriting guidelines, documentation requirements, loan structuring, and credit analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of SBA and commercial lending, loan origination procedures, and the Bank's lending policies and procedures.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of successful SBA loan credit analysis experience, preferably with a community or regional bank.
  • Industry-related certifications are preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is preferred.
Pay Rate Range: $85,000 - $100,000

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and location. Employees have access to healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision as well as a 401(k) plan.
