TELECOMMUNICATIONS MECHANIC II (GDFL-2026-):
Bowhead seeks a Telecommunications Mechanic II to join our team at Goodfellow AFB, in Texas.
The Telecommunications Mechanic will assist one or more technicians with Base Telephone Services (BTS). A successful candidate will be responsive and reliable, detail-oriented, have good judgment and excellent problem solving skills and be punctual. The Telecommunications Mechanic II will be responsible for installing and de-installing equipment racks, cable trays, J-hooks, fire sleeves, patch panels, wire managers, 110 blocks, 66blocks, jacks, face plates, and other communication equipment. They also install, uninstall and remove all instruments, service lines, and LAN cabling associated with the job site area, including cat3, cat5, cat5e, cat6, and cat6a, multi-pair, and fiber optic, coax cabling, outside plant cabling, and outside plant infrastructure. The Telecommunications Mechanic may perform specialized machine duties, or test telephone switch parts as assigned and will be required to lift up to 60 pounds, lift and climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
Physical Demands:
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
