Senior SCADA Analyst

The Opportunity
Our client is a growing oil and gas exploration and production company with a strong operational footprint in the Appalachian Basin. With a focus on safety, reliability, and responsible energy development, this organization relies heavily on real-time operational data to drive production continuity and protect field personnel.

They are seeking a Senior SCADA Analyst to serve as the technical backbone of their real-time operations environment. In this high-impact role, you will be the primary authority responsible for the reliability, security, and performance of SCADA systems supporting critical oil and gas assets. This position goes beyond system maintenance—you will safeguard operational integrity, reduce risk, and ensure that leadership and field teams can rely on accurate, real-time data around the clock.

You’ll act as the escalation point for complex technical issues, lead system upgrades and enhancements, and play a key role in aligning operational technology with evolving business and cybersecurity standards.

Location
Hybrid position based in Morgantown, WV, with an expectation of working onsite three days per week and occasional travel to field locations or well sites as needed.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Serve as the lead technical owner of the SCADA environment, balancing hands-on troubleshooting with strategic system optimization

  • Proactively monitor and maintain SCADA systems to ensure 24/7 reliability, safety, and availability of field operations

  • Act as the primary escalation point for complex incidents, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and communication issues

  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and availability of real-time and historical operational data used for production and safety decisions

  • Lead SCADA system upgrades, security patching, and technology refreshes while enforcing structured change management practices

  • Manage and troubleshoot communication pathways between field devices (PLCs, RTUs, IEDs) and centralized SCADA platforms

  • Support onboarding of new assets and expansion of existing systems to ensure seamless operational continuity

  • Champion OT cybersecurity best practices, access controls, and regulatory compliance across critical infrastructure

  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and IT teams to implement enhancements and align field systems with enterprise standards

  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation and support internal and external audits through detailed technical records

What Our Client Is Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline

  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise-level applications, with strong preference for oil and gas or energy industry experience

  • Deep expertise in SCADA platforms, architectures, and real-time monitoring systems supporting complex field operations

  • Strong working knowledge of PLCs, RTUs, IEDs, field instrumentation, and industrial control systems

  • Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols and networks, including Modbus, DNP3, OPC, TCP/IP, and telemetry solutions (radio, cellular, fiber)

  • Solid understanding of OT cybersecurity principles, access management, and regulatory requirements for critical infrastructure

  • Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to document systems and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Comfortable working in a role that blends office-based responsibilities with frequent field interaction

  • Willingness to support the 24/7 nature of operations, including on-call rotation and incident response
