A person in this role will performs difficult skilled technical work participating in and supervising skilled workers engaged in the installation, maintenance, and repair of process measurements and control systems, electrical/electronic control and power distribution systems, continuous emissions monitoring systems, SCADA Systems, wastewater pump stations, wastewater incineration facility, cryogenic O2 facility and other related facilities and systems as apparent or assigned, for the successful operation and maintenance of a regional wastewater treatment facility. Responsible for overseeing the work of department used contractors, ensuring work is performed in accordance with specifications, enforcing safety rules and regulations, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Maintenance Manager. Divisional supervision is exercised over SCADA/Instrumentation Technicians.
Competencies/Experience:
Thorough knowledge of the wastewater treatment plant facilities, wastewater pump stations, wastewater incineration facility, and cryogenic O2 facility. Thorough knowledge of the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical, power distribution, SCADA and instrumentation systems; thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions required in the work; thorough knowledge of tools, equipment, automation, and materials needed to perform effectively in electrical and electronic tasks; thorough knowledge of methods, practices, and procedures in electrical, SCADA and instrumentation maintenance and repair work; thorough knowledge of supervisory principles and practices; general knowledge of related engineering specifications and environmental laws; ability to read plans, schematics, maps, and drawings; ability to diagnose problems with operation of equipment and make decisions to resolve and return equipment to operating conditions; ability to maintain and prepare accurate plans for reports; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms; ability to plan, assign, supervise, and monitor the work of other employees; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, associates, vendors, and the general public.
Education:
Associates/Technical degree in electronics, electrical instrumentation, computerized controls, SCADA systems, or related field and considerable experience of an increasingly responsible nature in electronics installation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
License or Certification:
*Arc Flash/SCBA-Fit Test/Confined Space and Fire Extinguisher training within 12-months of employment.
*Valid driver's license in the State of North Carolina.
