This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with the control and SCADA systems behind utility-scale energy projects while collaborating directly with controls engineers, customers, and field teams. You'll gain exposure to complex integration challenges across BESS, solar, and other power-generation environments, with a clear path to grow into a Senior SCADA Integration Engineer and potentially a technical lead as the team expands.

Job Description:

Our client is seeking a SCADA Integration Engineer to support the development, integration, commissioning, and ongoing performance of SCADA and industrial control systems used in utility-scale renewable energy environments. Day to day, this engineer will coordinate closely with Controls, SCADA, other internal engineering teams, and customers to understand RTAC/control narratives and integrate the client's control configuration with customer SCADA environments. The role will work extensively with SEL RTACs, PLC programming, communications protocols, HMIs, protective relays, meters, gateways, and industrial networks. Responsibilities will include configuring communications and device mappings, integrating field equipment and control systems, troubleshooting communications and operational issues, reviewing electrical and controls documentation, supporting FAT/SAT and commissioning activities, performing root cause analysis, and maintaining system documentation. The engineer will also work directly with customers and onsite teams during project launches to ensure successful system integration and reliable operation.

Required Skills:

" Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline hard requirement

" 3 5 years of experience working with SCADA, industrial automation, controls, system integration, or related energy infrastructure

" Strong knowledge of SEL RTAC and associated PLC programming; SEL is particularly important because the majority of current projects are built around SEL RTACs

" Experience programming or working with PLC platforms such as SEL, Schneider Electric, Siemens, and/or Allen-Bradley

" Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols including DNP3, Modbus TCP/IP, IEC 61850, and IEC 60870

" Ability to integrate SCADA and controls environments between multiple systems, customers, operators, and other project stakeholders

" Strong understanding of industrial automation, power systems, and industrial/utility infrastructure

" Experience developing, configuring, or supporting HMI systems such as Ignition or equivalent platforms

" Experience integrating and troubleshooting RTACs, PLCs, protective relays, meters, gateways, data concentrators, HMIs, and related field devices

" Experience configuring communications interfaces, device mappings, data points, alarms, and reporting functionality

" Understanding of industrial Ethernet, fiber optic communications, network troubleshooting, and industrial cybersecurity practices

" Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and protection and control drawings

" Experience supporting testing, validation, commissioning, FAT, SAT, field startup, or similar control-system deployment activities

" Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for complex control, communications, and system integration issues

" Experience working directly with customers and multiple technical stakeholders

" Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder

Bonus Skills:

" Experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar power plants, renewable energy, utility substations, or another energy environment; Javier noted that energy storage and solar environments are particularly similar to the work this team performs

" Experience with SEL protective relays, metering systems, gateways, and data concentrators

" Knowledge of Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), Frequency Regulation, grid-support functions, and utility interconnection requirements

" Previous experience working for or supporting organizations in the energy, storage, power generation, or industrial automation space
