About the Role
We're hiring a Scale Clerk to support daily quarry operations by managing truck scale transactions, maintaining records, assisting customers, and helping ensure efficient site operations.
This position offers a blend of customer service, administrative responsibilities, and operational support, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, solving problems, and being an important part of a busy team.
This role provides valuable exposure to quarry operations, logistics, customer service, and inventory management, creating opportunities for future growth within the company.
What You'll Do
- Welcome customers and ensure compliance with site safety requirements
- Weigh trucks entering and leaving the facility
- Process customer orders and maintain accurate production and inventory records
- Enter carrier information, pricing, and transaction details into company systems
- Process payments including cash, checks, and credit cards
- Prepare bank deposits and maintain sufficient cash for daily operations
- Assist with scheduling, coordinating, and dispatching trucks
- Order supplies such as fuel, lubricants, safety equipment, parts, and other materials
- Maintain MSHA-related records and documentation
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist customers with product and pricing information
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional scale house environment
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- General knowledge of office equipment, including computers, printers, scanners, and multi-line phones
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and take on a variety of responsibilities
- Positive attitude, dependability, and strong teamwork skills
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
