Waste Connections is searching for a scale clerk in Wichita, Kansas.
Location: North Wichita, KS
Pay: $18.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Scale Clerk to join our team in North Wichita. This is a fast-paced position that plays a key role in daily operations by accurately weighing customers in and out, processing transactions, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with computer systems, including Excel and Waste Works.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Greet customers in a professional and friendly manner.
+ Accurately weigh trucks and customers in and out using the scale system.
+ Process payments and maintain accurate transaction records.
+ Provide outstanding customer service while handling a high volume of traffic and inquiries.
+ Utilize Excel and Waste Works software to enter and maintain data.
+ Answer phones and assist customers with questions regarding services and fees.
+ Balance cash drawers and reconcile daily transactions.
+ Complete end-of-day closing procedures.
+ Ensure all cash, checks, and other forms of payment are secure, accurate, and properly accounted for.
+ Maintain organized records and documentation in accordance with company procedures.
+ Work closely with operations staff to ensure smooth daily site activities.
Qualifications
+ Previous customer service, cashiering, administrative, or scale house experience preferred.
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
+ Excellent communication and customer service skills.
+ Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
