Scale House Clerk

At GWST, we're looking for an enthusiastic Scale House Clerk to join our team. In this dynamic role, you'll operate a computerized scale to ensure accurate weighing of vehicles. Your attention to detail will be key as you record essential data on each truck, such as vehicle category and driver specifics. Maintaining precise records is crucial for billing accuracy, and you'll conduct routine audits to ensure everything adds up. $18 - $20 hourly

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

• Ability to operate an electric weighing scale and computer console.

• Ability to make routine arithmetical computations and tabulations accurately and to prepare routine reports.

• Skill in computer operations, including pertinent software applications and a specialized Customer Service system.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED certificate preferred.

• Moderate computer proficiency.

• Experience in trucking or in an industrial yard environment.

• Basic math skills.

• Experience with radio communication.

Physical Requirements:

• Vision: adequate to enter and read material on computer screens. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, give directions, and other business interactions.

• Hearing: Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.

• Speaking: Able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying sizes with or without amplification.

• Carrying: Able to occasionally carry up to 20lbs/9kg.

• Lifting: Able to lift up to 30lbs/14kg.
