Scale Operator

FPT isawholly-ownedbusiness ofCleveland-Cliffsand has an immediate opportunity for aScale Clerkat one of our Canton OH locations.The Scale Clerkis responsible forweighing all inbound and outbound vehicles inspecting loose loads directing them to proper unloading areas andassistingin the details of purchases.Summary ofResponsibilitiesEnsure adherence to safety standards including use of required personal protective equipment PPE remove hazards asidentified andmaintaincleanliness of the site.Accurately inspect all materials ensuring correct weights materials description and grade for all inbound and outbound loads.Determinethe grade of the material enter it into the inventory system and direct to proper location.Operate&maintainmobile equipment including but not limited to forklifts skid steers.Provide day-to-daytrainingand guidance to develop our team to its fullest potential.Answercustomer questions about materialspricingand procedures.Maintain records asrequired.Research compare and evaluate local markets.Manage arrange and schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers.Assistwith processing as needed periodicallyoperate& maintainequipment.Maintain scale house and keep grounds organized.Operate scalecomputer applying correct material and inventory codes.Prepare proper paperwork for shipments.Communicate effectively with transportation customers management and yard employees.Interact with customers or drivers to direct orassistthem.Ensurequality of inbound and outbound materials.MinimumQualificationsHigh School DiplomaGEDand must be at least 18 years of age.Experience in scrapindustrypreferred.Computer experiencewith Microsoft Officepreferred.Good communicationand interpersonal skills.Basic mathand data entry skills.Ability toestablishpriorities and manage multiple tasks at once.Ability tomaintainaccuraterecords.Ability tofollow oral and written communication.Ability to climb ladders or steps to reach objects.Workcooperatively with other employees and the public.Must be able to work in an environment where routinely exposed to dust dirt vibrations extremeclimateand changes in weather.Pre-Employmentbackground physicaland hair drug screenrequired.Ferrous Processing and Trading is a subsidiary of Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. the largest flat-rolled steelcompanyand the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.Cleveland-Cliffs is vertically integrated from mined raw materials direct reduced iron and ferrous scrap to primary steelmaking and downstream finishing stamping tooling and tubing.We offer an excellent total compensation package includingcompetitivepay health insurance retirement plan educationassistance paid time offand more.Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is committed to working with and providing reasonable accommodation to individuals with disabilities.
