Description
Advantage Metals Recycling LLC, a division of Nucor, is seeking a Scale Operator in St. Joseph, MO to manage customer transactions, scale operations, and regulatory shipping documentation in an industrial metal recycling facility. The ideal candidate possesses at least two years of customer service and cash handling experience, strong math and computer skills, and a high school diploma.

Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Cashiering: Collect required customer information for transactions, complete purchasing and shipping documentation, conduct daily reconciliations, and cross-train in cashier duties.
Shipping & Regulatory Compliance: Coordinate rail and truck shipments, review paperwork for regulatory compliance, and process documentation for radiation events.
Safety & Workplace Standards: Uphold safety policies, properly wear PPE, maintain safety records, and keep workplace housekeeping standards high.

Qualifications
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience & Education: At least 2 years of cash handling and direct customer service experience in a fast-paced environment; High School diploma required (college degree preferred).
Technical & Administrative Skills: Basic math, account reconciliation, computer literacy, and data entry skills.
Communication & Operational Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to follow written and oral instructions effectively.
Schedule & Working Conditions: Ability to work a 5-day week (Mon–Fri, 7:50 AM – 4:15 PM) with flexibility for off-hours, weekends, and holidays, and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
