Scenic Carpenter

Trade Management is looking for Scenic Carpenters with a well-established Orlando-based scenic fabrication company. This isn't standard construction - you'll be building custom props, themed structures, parade floats, and large-scale scenic elements for some of the biggest names in entertainment, theme parks, and live events. Scenic Carpenter Job Description

Construct custom scenic pieces, props, and themed structures from wood and mixed materials based on design drawings and shop specs

Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to plan and execute builds accurately

Operate standard woodshop equipment including table saws, band saws, routers, and hand and power tools safely and efficiently

Work with a variety of materials beyond wood including laminates, plastics, metals, and composite materials as needed per project

Collaborate with designers, project managers, and other fabricators to meet project deadlines and quality standards

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment in line with all safety protocols

Adapt quickly across multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced production environment

Scenic Carpenter Requirements

3+ years of carpentry experience, preferably in a shop, scenic, or custom fabrication setting

Proficient with hand and power tools and standard woodshop machinery

Able to read shop drawings and technical blueprints

Experience with laminates, veneers, or composite materials a plus

Strong attention to detail and pride in finished quality

Comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines

Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods; reliable transportation to Orlando facility required

Contract-to-hire: This role starts as a contract position with the intent to convert to full-time permanent employment based on performance and fit. Benefits eligibility begins upon conversion.
