Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
The Clinical Nurse Educator, develops, plans and implements educational activities to foster the advancement of competency and professional development in nursing associates. Integral to the role, the educator must be competent in career development, education, and project management. According to the Excellence Standards, ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, intertwined elements include educator/facilitator, educator/academic liaison, change agent/team member, researcher/consultant, leader/communicator, and collaborator/advisor/mentor. Partners will all leaders' hospital wide to assess and fill educational gaps.
Essential Duties:
This job description is intended to cover the minimum essential duties assigned on a regular basis. Caregivers may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned by their leader. Leadership has the right to alter or modify the duties of the position.
Job Requirements
General Requirements • Current State of Michigan license as a Registered Nurse • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association within 45 days of hire and maintain. • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification by the American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintain. • Certified Nurse Leader - preferred • Certification in specialty area or nursing professional development - preferred Work Experience • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Acute Care Nurse • Experience as an critical care or ED nurse - preferred Education • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing • Masters of Science in Nursing preferred Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Competent use of MS Office products including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel • Interpersonal skills for effective communication. • Accountable for professional development and maintenance of competencies • Excellent attendance • Project and time management skills • Able to handle stressful situations and manage conflict • Demonstrates ability to use a keyboard as may be required to perform the essential duties of the job.
