Job Description
General Purpose of Job:
Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician. Responsible for the administration of quality Ultrasound examinations and patient information.
Job Requirements
General Requirements • CPR/BLS Certified • Registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Sonography (RDMS) in OB/GYN and/or Abdomen. Work Experience • Graduate of an approved ultrasound program or a minimum of one year experience as an ultrasonographer. • Preferred - Experience as an ultrasonographer. • Preferred - Vascular experience. • Preferred - OB/GYN/Abdominal/Small Parts/Breast. Education • Graduate of an approved ultrasound program or a minimum of one year experience as an ultrasonographer. Specialized Knowledge and Skills • Position requires self-discipline. • excellent communication skills. • high degree of personal motivation. • Excellent teamwork skills. • Basic knowledge of technical factors and normal and abnormal anatomy. • Knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients serviced in his/her assigned service area as related to the principle duties and responsibilities of the position. The skills and knowledge needed to provide such care may be gained through education, training or experience.
