Scheduler Manager

Location: Downers Grove, IL – Position will relocate to Wheatfield, IN

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Scheduler Manager for a Contract-to-Hire opportunity supporting a major construction project. This position will initially be based in Downers Grove, IL and will relocate to Wheatfield, IN as the project transitions into the next phase.

The Scheduler Manager is a senior-level professional responsible for overseeing the scheduling function across all phases of the project. This role will manage schedule development, maintenance, integration, and reporting across project teams, phases, and partnerships.

The Scheduler Manager will ensure schedules align with contractual requirements and project objectives while promoting scheduling best practices. This individual will also serve as a key liaison between internal project teams, clients, contractors, and project partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, execution, maintenance, and continuous improvement of project schedules.

• Manage baseline schedule development and re-baseline efforts throughout the project lifecycle.

• Oversee scheduling team operations, including workload management, performance reviews, mentoring, and professional development.

• Coordinate schedules across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and other project functions.

• Produce and review weekly and monthly schedule reports, forecasts, and project updates.

• Monitor critical path activities, float, schedule constraints, milestones, and overall project performance.

• Identify potential schedule delays and lead the development of mitigation and recovery strategies.

• Coordinate with project departments to resolve scheduling issues and maintain alignment with overall project objectives.

• Represent the scheduling function during client meetings, project reviews, cost reviews, and change order discussions.

• Evaluate schedule impacts associated with project changes, delays, and scope modifications.

• Maintain schedule integrity and perform routine schedule quality reviews, including open ends, float analysis, logic checks, and schedule health assessments.

• Utilize Acumen Fuse and other scheduling tools to evaluate schedule quality and performance.

• Support earned value reporting and integration between schedule, cost, and project controls functions.

• Ensure scheduling activities comply with contractual requirements, project procedures, and established best practices.

• Support the implementation and use of Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and related work packaging processes.

• Provide clear, actionable schedule information and recommendations to project leadership and other stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 8 years of relevant industry experience, or a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

• Minimum of 5 years of scheduling or project controls experience.

• Experience supporting large-scale construction, industrial, power, energy, or similar complex projects.

• Advanced knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.

• Strong understanding of earned value reporting and project controls principles.

• Advanced proficiency with Primavera/Oracle scheduling software.

• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project execution, and schedule integration.

• Ability to analyze complex schedules and identify risks, delays, and opportunities for schedule improvement.

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Acumen Fuse.

• Experience with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and work packaging software.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Experience managing or supervising scheduling/project controls personnel.

• Experience working directly with clients, contractors, and project leadership.

• Experience supporting cost reviews, change management, and schedule impact analysis.

Location Requirements

This position will initially be based in Downers Grove, IL and will relocate to Wheatfield, IN as the project progresses. Candidates must be willing and able to transition to the Wheatfield project location when required.
