Respond to Call-Outs
- Receive caregiver call-outs (sick, emergency, no-show)
- Verify shift details (client, time, duties)
- Assess urgency based on client acuity
- Document reason for absence
Fill Open Shifts
- Identify qualified replacement caregivers
- Consider:
- Required skills/certifications
- Client preferences
- Hours/overtime limits
- Distance/travel feasibility
- Contact available caregivers in priority order
- Confirm shift acceptance
Emergency Coverage
- Handle last-minute or same-day coverage crises
- Coordinate live-in replacements if needed
- Escalate to management if coverage cannot be found
