Scheduler I

Schedule and maintain information regarding civil cases and criminal cases assigned to Judges and Magistrates. May be assigned to civil and/or criminal duties according to departmental needs.

Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Civil and criminal data entry in case management system for personal dockets and session cases
  • Continued case scheduling for Magistrate hearings, including defaults, small claims and propria persona cases etc.
  • Processes entries on Magistrate decisions.
  • Responsible for stay case maintenance.
  • Maintain judge's calendar of cases.
  • Maintain judge blocks in court management system.
  • Processes post judgment motion scheduling, civil and criminal.
  • Assign civil and criminal court dates to cases and data entry.
  • Answer phone inquiries and in person requests from public.
  • Maintenance of statistics and preparation of Supreme Court Reports.
  • Provide quality service that continuously improves, that meets or exceeds public expectations, and that ensures all are treated with courtesy, dignity, and respect.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of court computer system
  • Ability to organize and prioritize duties.
  • Constant interaction and communication with court staff.
  • Transportation and/or location of files.
  • Must be able to work in coordination with others, within a team concept
  • Data collection to assist in the preparation of the monthly reports.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school graduate or equivalent required.

Qualified applicants may be required to submit to testing and provide writing samples. Proof of education and employment references will be required before final interview. Employment predicated upon successful completion of criminal record check and drug testing required. Youll be considered a probationary employee for your first 180 days of employment.
