    Job Summary and Qualifications

    I have reviewed these job requirements and verify that I can perform all essential functions of this position.


    What you will do in this role:

    • Obtains all appropriate information required for the scheduling of procedures.
    • Assists with ordering office supplies in a timely manner.
    • Assists with orientation/training of new staff members.
    • Performs other related duties assigned by the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer.
    • Under guidance of the Director and Assistant Director, it determines appropriate priorities for activities based on work demand.
    • Prioritize activities based on a large volume of work demands in collaboration with the Director, Assistant Director and other hospital personnel and lets supervisor know if unable to complete tasks.
    • Applies knowledge of rehab scheduling procedures to ensure maximum utilization of available staff and equipment.
    • Schedules and reschedules appointments with minimal error. Focusing on “team” utilization as much as possible.
    • Constructs patient charts accurately with all appropriate contents.
    • Applied knowledge of medical terminology is utilized in the preparation of rehab schedules.
    • Utilizes secretarial skills effectively in fulfilling position responsibilities.
    • Proficient in utilization of appropriate office equipment, including word processing and computer systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Meditech.
    • Takes accurate messages and delivers them in a timely manner.
    • Maintains sufficient verbal contact with patients in waiting room and provides information regarding delays related to care.
    • Provides advanced notice for time off requests.
    • Maintains awareness of own limitations and seeks guidance from appropriate personnel.
    • Demonstrates willingness to adjust personal schedule in case of department need.
    • Demonstrates “time consciousness” and strives to use time effectively.
    • Participates in problem solving conflicts with scheduling.
    • Rolls all patient accounts over at the end of the month.
    • Accepts and supports changes in hospital and departmental policy.
    • Attends to personal affairs outside of scheduled work time.
    • Exhibits willingness to master new work routines and methods.
    • Achieves established goals.
