    Description

    Summary Statement

    The Scheduler Planners must have a broad knowledge of shop floor control and production planning and scheduling. Heshe must comply with all safety procedures and guidelines and comply with all company issued policies procedures rules and regulations. Heshe must also have an excellent work ethic including excellent attendance punctuality and the desire to complete designated work in a timely fashion.

    Education

    • Must have at least 1 years experience in scheduling and shop floor control.
    • Experience in a shipbuilding environment is a plus.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares, maintains, and releases shop work orders based on approved budgets and production schedules.
    • Maintains planning and cost tracking system integrity.
    • Updates data fields in the planning and cost tracking system to optimize validity and output and audits processes periodically.
    • Communicates work order status to supervisors and management.
    • Tracks actual production against budget and reports budget overruns and close to overrun conditions.
    • Provides a measurement of efficiency, utilization, and productivity of the work force, machines, and project status weekly.
    • Issues other required reports within set time frames.

    Requirements

    • Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Excel, MS Project, and other business software utilized by the company.
    • Must be a self-starter able to perform job duties with little or minimal supervision.
    • Must be an excellent communicator both written and oral and be able to identify and report any and all problems and discrepancies to their supervisor and request assistance if necessary.
    • Must be detail-oriented and have excellent follow-up skills.
    • Must have a willingness to learn new techniques.
    • Must be able to meet the work schedule.
    • Must be able to maintain a clean work environment.
    • Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Senesco job hazard analysis.
    • Must be physically able to work in all areas of the shipyard.

    Physical Demands

    • The employee must have correctable vision to 20/40, however, contact lenses are not permitted in certain production area positions.
    • The employee must pass the Ishihara test for color blindness and have the ability to read and understand safety symbols and colors (i.e. red, yellow, green, etc.).
    • The employee must be able to stand, sit, walk, squat, kneel, stoop, or climb stairs or a ladder.

    Work Demands

    • The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to respirator, hardhat, face shield, safety goggles, safety shoes, steel toe safety harness, gloves, or other protective clothing as determined by a Senesco Marine Job Hazard Analysis.
    • The employee must report all accidents or injuries to their supervisor and the Environmental Safety and Health Department.
    • The employee must report to their supervisor any and all damage to equipment or broken and misused tools.
    • The employee may be working in several different areas and environments, this includes work inside and outside of buildings or structures.
    • The employee needs to work at a pace consistent with meeting company deadlines.
