Our firm provides a full array of engineering, including civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers.Our staff works on a broad array of challenging and interesting public and private projects specializing in the design, rehabilitation, and construction of water and wastewater facilities, waterfront structures, and other civil infrastructureThe OpportunityWHB's San Diego, CA office is actively seeking Scheduler/Planning & Controls Engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in project management/planning & controls to support large scale projects in Southern California. This role requires advanced scheduling expertise with Primavera P6 to develop, maintain and provide value engineering of cost and resource loaded Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules. The ideal candidate for this opportunity is organized, has solid communication skills, can work independently with minimum supervision, is team oriented, personable, and possesses a strong desire to make a positive contribution to the business. Responsibilities:Review plans and specifications to establish project baseline schedules.Build and maintain cost and resource loaded schedules, update actuals to support earned value and generate financial/operational reports.Review monthly reporting packages, including narratives, schedule files and reports, summarize and provide executive summary Perform network logic analysis to validate sequencing, float accuracy and critical path alignmentPerform analysis of changes orders and claimsConduct Time Impact Analyses (TIA) to validate risks, delays and recovery optionsConduct schedule coordination meetings with internal teams, contractors and clientsProvide clear, data driven insights that support executive decision-makingAssisting in the management of projects to ensure they are on schedule, within budget and meet the requirements of our clientsPerform construction site inspections and attend progress meetingsRequired Qualifications:Engineering or Construction Management degree or an Engineering Technology diploma (EPPM, PMI-SP, PSP, PMP or equivalent) is requiredProficiency with Primavera P6 Professional and Microsoft Office suiteMinimum of five years of practical work experience.Write, review and critique baseline and update schedules related to the civil infrastructure projectsProvide technical direction or supervision to engineering professionals, engineering, or computer-aided design (CAD) technicians, or other professional and technical personnelPerform studies, calculations, and reports in accordance with project requirements and engineering standardsPreferred Qualifications:Candidate shall have a California Professional (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM) be willing to work to obtain this license.Excellent customer service skills including an ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with clientsWe offer a generous salary and benefits package that includes company paid medical and dental insurance, vacation, and a 401(k) plan. The salary range for this position is $115,000 to $160,000, depending upon the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
