Job Description:

Overview

 

The Scheduler focuses on the high-level management of production schedule for the plant. It is the main contact between the plant and corporate planning and is essential for corporate planning and plant operations alignment. Daily interdepartmental communication required to help the entire plant achieve established goals and KPI’s. Key performance includes but not totally limited to safety, quality, and productivity, efficiency, on time shipments, inventory levels and financial results.

 

Essential Functions and scope of responsibility:

  • Create and maintain master production schedule on daily basis.
  • Communicate with corporate planning frequently for high-level planning of plant, production timing, and maintenance.
  • Ensure that every employee involved in the production process has a clear understanding of what is required to meet the order and needs of customers.
  • Work hand-in-hand with other employees to make sure that all issues that are related to scheduling are properly handled and resolved.
  • Use labor and resources in the most cost-effective manner.
  • Facilitate MRP process and manage inventory levels.
  • Work closely with vendors to make sure that the company’s supply needs are adequately met in a timely manner.
  • Help rectify and/or reconcile output & financial differences and inaccuracies.
  • Maintain master data for packaging components, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Analyze production floor status through input/output control reporting.

Production Scheduler Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in supply-chain or related field, bachelor is preferred.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to relate respectfully, cordially, and freely with people (customers, employees, and vendors inclusive)
  • At least 3 years of related experience.
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency with computers and applications.
    • Microsoft Office Suite.
    • SAP Experience preferred.
    • Blue Yonder experience desired.
  • Strategic thinking, strong analytical skills, able to synthesize considerable amounts of complex data.
  • Change agent – skill with enabling, change, strong influencing abilities.
