    Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree-granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia.     Job Summary

    The position performs duties related to academic scheduling, training, and compliance with University, BOR, and regional accreditation policies and standards The position supports academic planning through facilities support, curriculum management activities, and records management.

    Responsibilities

    Scheduling and Coordinating Academic Space (50%) -

    Coordinates academic master scheduling activities including overseeing the schedule roll process each semester.

    Provides assistance with semester course scheduling for academic departments and schools.

    Reviews schedule of classes to ensure compliance of University, USG, and SACSCOC regulations and procedures.

    Prepare and distribute semester calendar of important dates regarding scheduling, planning, and operational processes for Academic Affairs.

    Assists in preparing and analyzing reports for course and enrollment distributions.

    Coordinate final exam process and produce completed final exam schedules each semester.

    Schedules space for academic related use in Banner.

    Coordinate space utilization efforts for academic space, including processing and tracking requests for facilities maintenance, space usage changes, and project requests.

    Coordinates scheduling and space utilization projects and initiatives.

    Academic Planning, Records, and Catalog Management (40%) -

    Responsible for accurate reporting and timely transmission of data from the curriculum management system to institutional stakeholders.

    Supports Academic Affairs and other divisions of the University in annual revision of the academic catalog using catalog management software.

    Coordinate the textbook adoption process for each semester, serving as the AA Liaison to Auxiliary and AA Division

    Serve as OTR liaison for Academic Affairs regarding banner processes, course and major coding, and data corrections.

    Coordinate syllabus process each semester and provide assistance and training for Simple Syllabus platform as needed.

    Assist and support course attribute assignment process each semester.

    Represents AA Division in various capacities and workgroups related to scope of responsibilities

    Supports academic affairs in academic planning activities

    Supports academic affairs records management.

    Other Duties as Assigned (10%) -

    Performs ad hoc and other related duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications

    Educational Requirements

    Completion of bachelors degree in a related field.

    Other Required Qualifications

    Knowledge of student information system (Banner)

    Competency in the operation of computers and use of software programs

    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including strong sensitivity to privacy concerns and willingness to adhere to all confidentiality requirements

    Required Experience

    Three to five years in a related field or similar position.

    Experience with highly detailed work.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    Knowledge of collegiate curriculum and academic catalogs.

    Knowledge of Student Information Systems.

    Knowledge of university transcript, catalog, course, and policy review procedures.

    Knowledge of university policies and procedures.

    Knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) requirements and data governance

    Knowledge of scheduling regulations and SACSCOC policies.

    Skill in the operation of computers and use of software programs.

    Skill in decision making and problem solving.

    Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.

    Skill in oral and written communication.
