    Job Summary and Responsibilities

    As our Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules.

    Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance.

    To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency.

    • Schedule all inpatient and outpatient hospital procedures for CHI patients, which includes coordinating times and locations for pre-testing, procedures and physician availability.
    • Create and send daily case logs and master lists to appropriate staff.
    • Conduct patient education and instruction for the scheduled procedure.
    • Receive calls from the answering services and distribute messages to the appropriate physicians.
    • Call in physician order, document and send to the appropriate departments including medical orders and standing orders.
    • Pull records, copy, make hospital reservations and send information per the physician request.

    Job Requirements

    Required

    • High School Graduate and 1-3 years One or more years in a medical office environment, upon hire or
    • High School GED and 1-3 years One or more years in a medical office environment, upon hire
