Job Summary
The Scheduling Coordinator:
Arranges procedure scheduling and pre-admission testing.
Schedules patient in appropriate department.
Verifies all demographic information and confirms date, time and location of appt for the patient and enters intra procedural data into computer.
Registers and schedules patients.
Provides customer service and clerical support.
Accepts, records and verifies insurance information.
Processes preauthorization requests, collects copays and account balance payments.
Scans documents into EMR and other administrative tasks related to the efficient operations of the department.
Ensures contact with patients, families, the community, vendors, coworkers and physicians are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner.

Education Requirements
High School Diploma - OR - GED - OR - Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education
Experience
Prior scheduling experience in healthcare setting preferred
