Position: SCHOLARS Program Director (Extended Day and Summer)

Program: Boone County SCHOLARS â Students Changing Habits of Learning and Radiating Success

Term: Extended Day 25-30 Weeks Starts in August, 2026 and ends in May, 2027 during the 26-27 SY

Summer Program: 5 weeks (Pending Funding)

Hours: 11 to 15 hours per week (2.5 Hours Monday-Thursday and 1 hour on Friday for Planning)

Program Director will receive 10 hours before program starts and 10 hours at the end of the program to complete GPS continuation application.

  • Days may be added if funding is available

Compensation: $35/hour

General Duties

The SCHOLARS Program Director will oversee the Boone County SCHOLARS after-school program and Summer School sites across three high school/Middle School Sites. This position is responsible for ensuring that academic tutoring, enrichment activities, and family engagement opportunities are successfully carried out in accordance with 21st Century Community Learning Centers requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising Site Coordinators, Instructors, and mentors.
  • Coordinating tutoring, remediation, and enrichment programming for students.
  • Supporting family engagement events and maintaining communication with parents.
  • Collaborating with school principals, counselors, and community partners.
  • Collecting and reporting data on attendance, grades, assessments, and program outcomes.
  • Ensuring compliance with all program, district, and WVDE requirements.
  • Will utilize the 21st Century app to record attendance and activity data
  • Will also be responsible for adding national attendance and activity data to the 21st Century App
  • The program must include at a minimum of 100 days of participation and 250 hours of instruction.
  • Program may be extended if funding is available

Certification

  • Valid teaching certificate endorsed for Secondary Education
  • Minimum of 1-year successful teaching experience at the secondary level
