Position Description & Details

DICKINSON STATE UNIVERSITY (DSU) is a regional comprehensive institution within the North Dakota University System, whose primary role is to contribute to intellectual, social, economic, and cultural development, especially to Southwestern North Dakota. The DSU Heritage Foundation stimulates and fosters an active interest from alumni and friends that encourages participation in the support of the University. This is accomplished by creating and maintaining a consistent flow of funds to achieve our vision of being the premier support for the University's commitment to provide the finest and most invigorating global-learning environment. The DSU Heritage Foundation secures, manages, and disburses these private funds for the benefit of the student and the University.

DSU is looking to hire a Scholarship & System Support Coordinator. This position will assist in managing the constituent database, processes gifts and acknowledgements and endowment tracking. This position will also assist in accounts payable, accounts receivable, maintenance and reconciliation of bank statements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field; OR

  • Two (2) years of college and three (3) years of directly related work experience

  • Must be detail orientated

  • Have a working knowledge of databases

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)

  • Must be committed to providing excellent customer service

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to keep confidential information confidential

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and focus on multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously with frequent interruptions

  • Ability to overcome challenges and solve problems

  • Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently and as a member of a team

  • Must be able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy and thoroughness and monitor own work and able to adapt to changes or delays

  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully

  • Ability to manage difficult client/customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service, responds to requests for service and assistance and meets commitments.

  • Consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.

  • Observes safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with the Raiser's Edge and Financial Edge, and their typical functions
  • Knowledge of Fund Accounting and Non-Profit Accounting principles

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Assisting with Award Spring and Scholarships

  • Assist in all areas including but not limited to:

  • Assist with maintaining DSU and financial support and DSU HF scholarships into Award Spring

  • Ensure communication between DSU and DSU HF for all waivers through Award Spring

  • Add/subtract new or non-renewed scholarships in Award Spring

  • Provide reports for DSU and DSU HF showing all areas of support

  • Assist in all Thank you areas associated with Award Spring

  • Understand the digital process for physical and digital filing of scholarship and bio's

  • Hall of Fame/Alumni Fellows Updates

  • Assist in all areas but are not limited to:

  • Be the lead in Rocket Solutions Website for annual updates

  • Including-Alumni Fellows, Hall of Fame and other areas

  • Implement new Touchscreens to different areas around campus as needed

  • Ensure the system communicates between DSU and DSU HF

  • DSU Heritage Foundation Website

  • Assist in all areas but are not limited to:

  • Build all areas associated with the DSU Heritage Foundation Website

  • Update as needed all campaign for fundraising

  • Ensure the website is current and usable for all involved

  • Develop the monthly DSU HF Newsletter and send out

  • Assist with email blasts

  • General Office and Events

  • Assist in all areas but are not limited to:

  • Ongoing with an annual review evaluation of database efficiency and reporting

  • Work nights and weekends as required

  • Assist with event planning and implementation for DSU Heritage Foundation fundraising events

  • Completes work related errands as requested

  • Greet visitors and answer the phone with a pleasant attitude and direct them to the correct staff member

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

  • Salary beginning at $35,000/annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience
