YOUR IMPACT
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The After-School Van Driver provides safe transportation to and from program sites while maintaining all required passenger ratios for after school programming.
EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Drives YMCA vehicle fleet safely according to YMCA policies and procedures and state laws. This position is not eligible to drive the YMCA bus. Must possess a current Class D driver's license. A J08 Restriction is required to transport seniors. Follows all passenger requirements for the YMCA Vans: up to 14 passengers plus the driver. Completes thorough before-and-after trip checks each day and records all information. Records gas level, mileage, and maintenance on designated forms. Cleans out vans each day. Promotes safety at all times by keeping first aid supplies fully stocked. Ensures that van rules are announced and followed. Develops friendly and positive relationships among staff, volunteers, parents, and children. Communicates regularly with other staff members and supervisor. Assists with supply runs as necessary. Supports programs to reach the goals and stated objectives. Ensures a strong focus on character development and diversity, equity and inclusion throughout programming. Reports damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly. Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Rock River Valley.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum age of 21 Minimum one-year work experience as a driver preferred Hold a valid driver's license in good standing with your current state of residence Possess a current Class D driver's license Must maintain a history of a clean driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked every two years as a condition of employment Motor vehicle records must meet and remain acceptable according to the MVR eligibility criteria Desire and ability to work with children Current Praesidium Academy training CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications required within 90 days
