**Behavior Technician (Middle School - ASL Required)** **Location:** School-Based Setting **Start Date:** September 1, 2026 **Schedule:** Monday-Friday | 8:10 AM - 2:40 PM (31.5 hours/week) _Note: 1-hour late start on Wednesdays_ **Contract Length:** Full school year (39 weeks) **Compensation:** **$28/hour** **About the Role** We are seeking a dedicated **Behavior Technician** to provide one-on-one support to a middle school student in a classroom setting. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping students with behavioral needs succeed academically and socially. You'll work closely with school staff and behavioral specialists to implement strategies that support positive behavior, engagement, and overall student growth. **What You'll Do** + Provide direct behavioral and instructional support to a student throughout the school day + Assist in implementing behavior intervention strategies and plans + Support student communication and engagement using **American Sign Language (ASL)** + Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and behavioral specialists + Help create a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment + Monitor and document student progress as needed **Key Requirement - ASL Skills** + **Conversational proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required** + ASL skills will be assessed during the interview process **Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent required + Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral needs preferred + Strong communication and collaboration skills + Ability to remain patient, calm, and consistent in a structured setting + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements + CPR and health clearances as required + Must be at least 18 years of age **What We're Looking For** + Someone who enjoys working one-on-one with students + A team player who can collaborate effectively with school staff + Strong behavioral support skills and a proactive mindset + Comfort using ASL in a school environment **Why This Role?** ?
