Behavioral Health Director - All Locations Possible

Tri-Area Community Health (https://triareahealth.org/) is a Federally Qualified Health Center headquartered in Laurel Fork, Virginia, with community clinics in Cana, Ferrum, Floyd, Fries, Grayson Highlands (Troutdale), and Laurel Fork, Virginia along with current school-based health centers in collaboration with Carroll County Public Schools, Galax City Public Schools, Grayson County Public Schools and planned collaborations with Floyd County Schools and Patrick County Public Schools. For over 40 years, Tri-Area has provided care to underserved individuals in Southwest Virginia. We offer integrated primary medical and behavioral health care in all these clinic locations. We also have pharmacies that are open in Ferrum, Fries, and Laurel Fork. Our three large sites (Ferrum, Floyd, and Laurel Fork) are National Committee for Quality Assurance-certified Patient-Centered Medical Homes. Behavioral Health Professionals at all sites are eligible for National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment (HPSA score of 19).

POSITION: We are seeking a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Professional Counselor to serve as Tri-Area's Behavioral Health Director. The Behavioral Health Director is expected to work 4-5 days a week, seeing patients, completing administrative duties, and visiting clinics. Possbility of flexible schedules/hybrid work model. The home location is open for discussion, based on Tri-Area's needs and staffing at the time of hiring. The position requires competency in providing interventions to individuals, families, couples, and groups with behavioral health and/or substance use problems in a primary care setting. Patient care is provided in an integrated model, in collaboration with medical professionals. The Behavioral Health Provider must operate in accordance with the terms and conditions of the various contracts and grants providing the funding for Tri-Area's programs and projects. As Behavioral Health Director, this person serves on the organizational Leadership Team, supervises other Behavioral Health Providers, and is involved in writing and implementing organizational policies and procedures.

Accounts Payable Specialist - Laurel Fork, VA

Tri-Area Community Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center headquartered in Laurel Fork, Virginia, is seeking a full-time Accounts Payable Specialist. This position provides essential financial support to the Finance Department, managing the full accounts payable cycle from invoice receipt through payment while ensuring accurate record-keeping in compliance with federal, state, and grant requirements. You will work under the Business Manager to support the financial integrity of our health center.

An Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience is required with a minimum of 3 years of accounts payable or bookkeeping experience (internships considered). Must be proficient in Excel and have a working knowledge of GAAP. Must have strong attention to detail, discretion with confidential data, and clear communication.

Experience working in an FQHC or non-profit setting is preferred. Preference will also be given to applicants with HRSA standards and fund accounting familiarity and proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or MIP Fund Accounting.

Telemental Behavioral Health Educator and Outreach - Floyd, VA

Tri-Area is seeking a full-time Telemental Behavioral Health Educator and Outreach Worker for our Floyd County Public Schools clinic. This is a full-time, year-round position (40 hours per week), which may include occasional evenings and weekends. Although some work may occur in Tri-Area Community Health clinics, most of the duties for this position will be performed in the schools and community. The coverage area includes all Floyd County Public Schools, serving students who attend those schools, their families, and employees of the school division, in partnership with a co-educator, and daily travel is anticipated (mileage will be reimbursed).

This position is primarily responsible for working with students, families and employees of Floyd County Public Schools, as well as interacting with community members and organizations regarding the behavioral health of youth. This person will provide telehealth assistance and training to school employees, health education to students and family members, and outreach to the community.

  • An associate degree in human services is required for this position with preference given to those holding a bachelor's degree in human services or education.
  • Two years of work experience in education, health care, or human services is required.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health, positive attitude toward persons with behavioral health concerns, and willingness to work with youth who have behavioral health issues is required.
