Duties
Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify students’ mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.
Deliver evidence-based individual and group counseling sessions utilizing modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment-based therapy for children, trauma-informed care, and behavioral therapy.
Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to support students experiencing urgent emotional or behavioral issues.
Collaborate closely with school staff, families, and external providers to coordinate case management and ensure comprehensive care.
Maintain accurate clinical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and school district policies using social work documentation tools and medical records systems.
Facilitate psychoeducation sessions on topics like adolescent development, social skills, conflict management, and behavioral health.
Engage in data collection and progress monitoring to evaluate treatment effectiveness and inform ongoing care strategies.
Experience
Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or youth in mental health or school-based counseling settings.
Strong background in addiction counseling, social work, or clinical social work with a focus on behavioral health.
Skilled in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders.
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation standards, and confidentiality protocols such as HIPAA.
Familiarity with applied behavior analysis (ABA), evidence-based practices like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and attachment-based therapy for children.
Experience working with diverse populations to provide culturally sensitive counseling tailored to individual needs.
Ability to manage conflict effectively and implement behavior management strategies within school environments.
