School-Based Occupational Therapist

Position Summary
Occupational Therapists are needed for the school year in the Far West, Far Northwest suburban, and Fox Valley areas of Illinois. Opportunities include both short-term and long-term assignments, including full-time school year and FMLA coverage positions. The Occupational Therapist will support elementary and middle school students across general education, resource, and self-contained settings. This role focuses on providing direct and consultative occupational therapy services in a collaborative, student-centered educational environment.
Responsibilities
• Schedule / Shift
- Shift details: Monday-Friday following school schedule
- Hours per week: Full-time hours based on school schedule
- Contract length: school year
• Key Duties:
- Provide occupational therapy screenings, assessments, treatment, and progress reporting for students
- Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services in accordance with student needs and IEP goals
- Participate in and present at IEP meetings and student conferences with educational staff
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to support student success
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
• Education
- Required: Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Licenses & Certifications
- Required: Active Illinois Occupational Therapist license through IDFPR
- Preferred: Prior school-based or pediatric experience
Skills:
- Ability to work collaboratively in a student-centered educational environment
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Knowledge of occupational therapy practices within school settings
- Ability to manage varying caseloads across multiple educational programs
