What You’ll Do as a School Based Paraprofessional

• Provide direct academic and behavioral support to students with special needs, working 1-on-1 with a student or with small student groups
• Implement IEP goals and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher supervision
• Monitor student behavior during class, transitions, lunch, and recess
• Support a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom culture
• Maintain a calm, structured, and safe environment during challenging moments
• Assist students with daily living, transitions, and personal care routines as needed
• Collect, track, and record daily behavioral and academic progress data, per school requirement

Qualifications

• Experience in a classroom setting, following student’s IEPs
• Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Reliable transportation and commitment to consistent school day shifts
• Ability to attend in-person or online training, as required
• Smartphone with time-clock app capability
