Family Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled School-Based Therapist/Counselor to provide mental health services to students in a school setting. This full-time, school-year position (August through May) plays a vital role in supporting students' emotional well-being, behavioral health, and academic success through counseling, crisis intervention, and collaboration with school staff and families.
Key Responsibilities
Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing emotional, behavioral, and social concerns
Conduct assessments, establish diagnoses, and develop individualized treatment plans
Deliver crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and school personnel to support student success
Participate in IEP and Student Support Team meetings when appropriate
Consult with parents/guardians regarding student progress and needs
Provide psychoeducation and prevention programming (coping skills, emotional regulation, etc.)
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
Coordinate referrals to community resources and ensure continuity of care
Work as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team
Qualifications
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field
Current Ohio licensure or license-eligible (LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW, LMFT, or equivalent)
Ability to diagnose and treat mental health conditions using DSM-5 criteria
Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
Experience working with children/adolescents preferred
Schedule & Work Environment
Full-time, aligned with the school calendar (August-May)
School-based setting (elementary, middle, and/or high school)
