PURPOSE To provide support to students on bus route.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to pass DOT physical fitness assessment. • Obeys all traffic laws and rules and regulations of the MSD of Pike Township. • Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses. • Maintains discipline when students are on the bus. • Follows the adopted discipline plan. • Keeps assigned bus clean. • Keeps to assigned schedule and assigned route. • Checks the bus before each operation for mechanical defects. • Notifies the Transportation Office in case of mechanical failure or lateness. • Discharges students only at authorized stops. • Transports only authorized students. • Reports all accidents and completes required reports. • Exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips. • Enforces school bus rules and regulations for students. • Monitors running time, mileage, and brings bus in for routine maintenance. • Keeps appropriate fuel usage records. • Completes work order for required service and repair. • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as required by the transportation supervisor or his/her designee may assign.

TRAINING Free School Bus CDL Training is available for qualified candidates once the following tests are passed at your local Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles: • General Knowledge • Passenger Transport • School Bus • Air Brakes
