Duties

Job Description: As a school bus driver, you are responsible for bringing children to and from school, ensuring timely pick-up and safe drop-off in the process. In any area, driver''s may provide transportation for events, including field trips, during and outside of school hours. While you are on the road, you are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for everyone inside the bus.transport students to and from school and special events.

Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities: (These are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)

• Adhere to an assigned schedule
• Arrive at pick-up and drop-off points in a timely manner
• Ensure the safety of all bus passengers
• Complete maintenance records and incident reports
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness inside the bus
• Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle prior to operation
• Recognize and report any required bus maintenance
• Attend transportation meetings and other meetings as appropriate.
• Support and enforce policies as established by the school district.
• Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as appropriate as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor.

Qualifications

A valid Illinois CDL driver''s license

Salary/Benefits

Salary: Determined in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement Gavin School District 37 Collective Bargaining Agreement 2026-2028

Benefits include paid sick and personal days
